The article informs on the artifacts made of stone and horn, called in special archaeological sources axes and adzes with «edges» or «trunnion axes». After years of archaeological studies, the materials were collected in the Northern Eurasia, in particular in recent ten years as a result of some new excavations. It was considered the chronicle facts of finds in geography, geostratigraphy, paleotechnological sedimentation of the named items in buried materials by radiocarbon dating. Authors propose the general scheme of classification levels to control the descriptions of the stone Pleistocene-Holocene materials, to allow forming particular groups of artifacts as well as organize analytical procedures in their interior on the level of subject-elemental compositions. The research versions of the production technologies, their functional specifications and possible paleocultural purposes are mentioned.
