Abstract
This article presents the results of a comprehensive geological, geomorphological and paleontological-stratigraphic study of known and new archaeological sites from the Upper Pleistocene in the Tunka rift valley. We provide the radiocarbon dates from Paleolithic horizons in the Tunka region. On the basis of the data outlined here, we attempt to clarify the boundaries of the “Tunka geoarchaeological region”, which is notable for its terminal-edge micro-splitting lithic industries.
